I know your thinking, hey what is Good Vibes technology? Well watch this hilarious yet informative video: (we had to pull the video, it was messing up the site)

Stilll not sure, allow the Specialty Sports scientists to break it down for you (ok so we copy/pasted this from the Forum site, eat it) – Experience a state of heightened shredness with the all-new, award-winning Shaka Binding featuring the Good Vibes Hinge Disc. Winner of Snowboard Magazine’s Platinum Pick award and SIA’s Industry Innovation of the Year Award-this mind altering new disc allows the board to bend without interrupting it’s natural flex. Taken holistically with the Shaka’s split baseplate, the Hinge Disc provides a freer underfoot flex for increased board feel.

Let your toes marinate into dampening comfort with the full-length EVA and FGel pad so only the good vibes get through even on flat landings. The Hinge Disc also has an open mind and is willing to mount any 4-hole pattern board. Try it with a Continuous Rocker board for truly awakening experiences.

Dragon’s Owen Wright tops the World’s Best to Win Boost Surfsho

BONDI BEACH, New South Wales/Australia – Dragon team surfer and ASP Dream Tour Rookie, Owen Wright has defeated Kelly Slater, Taj Burrow, Jordy Smith and 2009 World Champion, Mick Fanning, to win the Boost Surfsho aerial contest on the weekend.

The 20-year old from Lennox Head, was flying high after taking home $25,000 in prize money, along with a stack of other prizes.

“I’m ecstatic,” he said. “Where’s the thesaurus to describe how I feel? It was a great final, great atmosphere, and a great crowd. I’m buzzing! It’s been a big three days. I’m stoked to be at Bondi and walking away with the Boost Mobile SurfSho trophy and this check!”

Owen threw down some gravity-defying moves to out-fly fellow surfers in the final performing a massive full rotating aerial to score a near perfect 9.8 (out of a possible 10). He then backed it up with a similar maneuver scoring 8.3.

It was the second time the aerial specialist has won the ASP specialty event, beating Kelly Slater in the final in 2008.

Jordan Hoffart vs Carlsbad Gap

I know this gap is pretty much killed, but with Jordan’s humor, it’s “FUN!” to watch… get it cause he’s on Powell.

It had been ten years since Jordan Hoffart unsuccessfully tried to varial heel the Carlsbad gap, and after he stopped by TWS last week and told us he wanted to go back and get it—and that he had it in three tries—we of course said, “Lets do this!” So on Saturday, right before San Diego got bombarded with another weekend of rain, we met up at Carlsbad, pulled out the camera, put $100 on the line, and he went for it. Did he make it? How many tries did it take him? Here’s how it went down…

Mountain Creek March Operating Schedule

Noticed this in a Mountain Creek Newsletter (all the way at the bottom)

From here on out it has everything to do with Mother Nature! Our plan is to operate both Vernon and South straight through the 21st, take a breather Monday through Friday and re-open @ South Terrain Park March 27 & 28. And of course we have our Annual April Fools After School session in April 1 in The Bear Base Hike Park.

World Premiere – What Do You Mean? Short Film

Huh? What do you mean…… “What Do You Mean?”

Electric is proud to announce the short film “What Do You Mean?” starring Matt Hoy, Luke Egan, Ozzie Wright, Dave Rastovich and other beloved Electric Family!

“What Do You Mean?” is an ‘impromptu labor of love about nothing too much in particular’ and inspired by Surfing World magazine’s landmark 300th issue, the 7 minute and 30 second film takes its name from one of Hoy’s often repeated catch-phrases: “What Do You Mean?”

As art follows life, Hoy, facing a serious hangover and possible eviction, is forced into a garage sale to raise money in order to pay his rent. Antics ensue and there are at least enough cheesy laughs in this first outing to have audiences begging for more.
