Powell Skateboards welcomes Chad Bartie

When he was 12, the Bones Brigade skated his backyard mini ramp and stayed at his house in Australia. Yesterday, he became the newest skater on Powell, and is featured on the cover of SLAM magazine and has an interview.

“Chad’s skating has always been an inspiration to me growing up, I remember watching the New Deal video “7 year glitch”over and over thinking, “Damn, that bow-legged Aussie has so much board control”. Haha. It wasn’t until I finally met him that I realized he’s the full professional package. He’s super motivated, kind spirited, generous, extremely humble and most importantly, genuinely loves skateboarding. You see a lot of pro’s fall off their game as they mature, but Chad’s one of the few that has kept his skills progressing and is skating the best he ever has. So as a friend and now team mate, I’m beyond stoked to have him join up with the Powell family”.

Giovanni Reda Interviewed by Steve Olson – DemiGods and Cosmic Children

Steve Olson sat down with Reda to ask him some questions about his new book “Demigods & Cosmic Children” and DLX has the exclusive!

Any good stories when trying to shoot any of the subjects ( Mark, Rick, Jake, Spike, Olson, etc).
Olson (Steve) was wanted in the questioning of a murder (he didn’t do it,) but that was heavy shit! He was in the studio in Brooklyn chain smoking like a bandit. My friend Zach took a few steps away from him. People who I thought would be hard to get into the studio were pretty easy, like Gonz, Phelps and Spike.

New Vision Complete Decks

Just found out about some new pre-built Vision complete skateboards on the way.

I hate that these are old school decks cause I actually had a Vision Psycho Stick as my first skateboard… gives me that old feeling.

New KROOK3D Summer Boards are IN!!

The Summer Krooked Shmoo Deux and Skater Dater boards are in stock and the Krooked 3D blog has been getting a lot of updates from the guys. They’re just about to wrap up a month of 3D filming in SF and heading to an un-disclosed location for the next month…Stay tuned!

Also, Tony T, BA, Rick Howard, and Mike Carrol destroyed the Girl Skapark last week
