What’s Up With Sector 9 Longboarding?

If you tried to special order a longboard from us you may be asking, why is it taking so long! I know I’ve been waiting on a board for myself plus the shop order to replenish our lower then normal stock. Well it looks like we are not the only ones, Sector 9 just sent out a explanation that doesn’t really explain anything but whatever, it does have some info on new stuff.

Everyone has got to be asking “what’s up with longboards right now…and why is Sector 9 so backed up?” I wish I knew exactly what is going on, I do know that the longboarding craze is greater than we’ve ever seen and the downhill scene is growing to a new level! Please know that we are doing everything in our power to get us back to a reasonable shipping schedule…we hired on 25 new employees in the last 2 months which helps, but we continue to see a steady push for Sector 9s.

With that said, shipping lead time is still 2 weeks (SPESH NOTE: it was 9 weeks!) out before we can get an out the door and I am planning on that being the case through September. I’ve attached our current order form with what is available as of now…there are 3 new graphics ready to ship…Rincon (new shipsterns), J-bay (new Teahupoo) and a new Joel Tudor (long). We have a new catalog for Fall now with most of the newbie’s ready to ship by mid to late September. There will be some trickling in over the course of the next few weeks which we will automatically sub old for new unless requested otherwise. Physical catalog copies will be in the mail about mid September when we are shipping mostly new boards…please continue to order off our old catalog until I have the new order form ready for you.
